Archetype

In Mary Shelley's Frankenstein  the real villain is Victor Frankenstein because he created the moster. Therefore he was responsible for the monster and the death of the people that the monster killed. Since he regected the monster that he created, the monster felt unloved by his creator and he killed Willy, Frankensteins' best friend, Elizabeth and the girl that got was hung because they blamed her for the death of Willy and Victor's father.

Review of The Call of the Wild

The story is about Buck, a large, half Saint Bernard and half-Scottish shepherd dog who lives in various places under the authority of many masters. Each one treats him a little differently while he is trying to figure out his role in life. These feelings are experienced by him to be pleasant at times and then turn for the worse towards the end of the story.
While being owned by the judge he is treated as a valuable part of his life. It is life of ease until Buck is stolen by the judge’s servant. Here is where Buck is tied up and beaten. The word “master” takes on a whole new meaning and he must learn to obey or suffer the consequences of this life style.  He must learn to be alert for the challenges to his life and use his animal instincts to survive in the North.  There is competition between the dogs on who will be the lead dog. Fights break out and Buck is tested in his ability to be the most powerful and smartest.
His owners treat him differently when trying to accomplish their goals. He gains approval of Francois and Perrault, after becoming the lead dog of the sled team. The Scotch-Half breed treats Buck fairly but works him to near death.  Then Charles, Hal, and Mercedes are lost in knowing how to plan a trip in the cold and frozen northern snow of California. He is finally saved by John Thornton who treats him with kindness which Buck really enjoys this change in his life. Buck saves John a few times, but finds john killed by Yehatt Indians.
Buck learns many different things about life in his journey. He enjoys his first owners’ lifestyle but later is thrown into a world of survival of the fittest in a very cold place in California. His understanding of the definition of master will range from good feelings to a need to somehow survive under cruel circumstances. He returns to the wild country and he never lost his animal instinct that possessed from the beginning o his life.

The Call of the Wild

Zeal for Survival

People have the zeal to survive. They always fight for their lives until the end. In Titanic people were fighting to get off of the sinking ship and jumping into the ocean because they thought they had a better chance to survive in the open ocean then in the sinking ship. The rich men even paid money to get in a life boat to survive. The boats were suppost to be filled with women and children first and thats why they were paying money. That raises the question what was the man in charged of loading people in to life boats going to do with the money. After all he was about to go down with the sinking ship. In The Call of the Wild Buck killed the indians in revenge because they killed John Thornton. After Thornton's death Buck went to the wild because there was nothing that would hold him in the civilized world. If he would have stayed in the civilized world his emotions would have killed him because there was nothing in that world that he cared about.

Anthropomorphism

I am an beset cat
My white ugly and discusting fur
      My legs broken and uneven
      My whiskeres are gone
I am supposed to be scary and evil
But when I get wet I get scared
Hiding from dogs all the time is not fun
knowing that they will eat me if I dont hide
I know I soon will die and be happy with my pals.

The Word

The word that I choose for this year would be success, I choose the word success because thats one of my plans for this year to be successful because I want to be succesful in this life. When I make plans I for sure need to get them done and this is a plan bur is more like a goal that i had put in my head and thats why im doing this. This can be acomplish by doing my work, and spacing my time where I can finish one thing at a time and then proceed to the other. This would take a lot of dedication and positive thinking on my part and thinking possitive attitude.  In conclution, as a have reached this point in my live I feel that good things are ahead of me but it with take a lot of travail of my part to make this changes and be a successful person in my life.

book review

Nicky Cruz's Corre Nicky Corre amazes me with its true story and unique style of writting.
Nicky puts himself in the book; he is from Puerto Rico he is also the main character in the book. when he was a kid he was made fun of, because of his parents because of what they do (whitchcraft). Ever since he was a little kid he was made fun of. when he turned 16 his parents decided to send him to New York to life with his older brother, there he look at the world in a different way. When he started to go to school people also made fun of him they see in him a weak person, so  he starts to get in fights to show them that they are wrong. So because of the fighting in school he gets expelled from school. He runs away from his home and lifes on his own now! he looks that the world needs help that its messed up! but he ends up in a gang and just like other kids around him.

Nicky in this book makes so real that I can see the scenes that are going on. For example there is this part when Nicky's mom is talking to some of her friends and for some reason she gets possesed by some spirit and starts to say that Nicky is not her son that he is the sun of Lucifer. When Nicky hears this he starts telling her that he hates her and goes hide under the stairs of his porch and how he has dirt in his face and how he feels and how his mom is wrong and what he thinks.

I can compare this book to what is going on in this world now how many teenagers get involve in gangs because they dont have no love are lost in this world. Also I can make a connection with another book that talks about the same thing and the name of that book is Si Quieres Caminar Sobre Las Aguas.

Corre Nicky Corre is a tremendous book, tells the story of a gang member in desperation, tied to the vices and precion blinded by a constant struggle between the will of God and the street, helps to overcome inner fears overwhelm us, and society it carries in one way or another to be a prisoner of his own addictions, speaks of how God is gradually changing his life, he was near death several occasions, and today is a great servant of God.
